What is KF mask?
KF(Korea Filter) face masks refer to filtering respirators* which are manufactured in Korea and they are classified as KF80, KF94 or KF99 masks according to the filtration efficiency or standard.
Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) regulates all kinds of face mask in South Korea.
*Filtering Respirators means products used to protect the respiratory system against an infectious agent or toxic substances such as fine dust and virus.

Personally I find the South Korean KF94 very comfortable. The KF94 creates a bigger gap in front of your mouth to speak clearly. And I sometimes forget I'm even wearing it because it doesn't touch my lips or corner of my mouth.

KF94 resemble as N95
Dr. Ashish K. Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Public Health. Dr. Jha notes that the gold-standard N95 masks are still hard to find, and we should save them for health workers. The KF94 mask resembles an N95, with some differences. It’s made of a similar nonwoven material that blocks 94 percent of the hardest-to-trap viral particles. But the KF94 has ear loops, instead of elastic head bands, so it won’t fit as snugly as an N95 (Source: NYT news,2021)
